Pete Tide II
Pete Tide II was an Offshore Supply Vessel or OSV. Oil companies typically use OSVs to ferry people and supplies to and from offshore oil rigs.
Built in the late 1970s, the 167-foot Pete Tide II replaced the original Pete Tide, which was destroyed in a fire. Retired from service in 1993, Escambia County acquired and sunk the vessel as part of the artificial reef program.
Today the wreck sits in 105 feet of water with the top 60 feet from the surface. She sits upright and is largely intact. Divers can explore three different deck levels in the superstructure and holds.
Large schools of fish inhabit all three decks and the area immediately surrounding the wrecks. Divers can see spadefish, minnows, wahoo, and blackfin tuna, among other species.
